Parent-Teacher Conferences

The first of the conferences with the sophs’ parents were pretty fun, except for the one where the mom questioned my qualifications, my assignments, my judgment, my choice of reading material, and my ability to connect with kids, all the while pounding on the table and chanting, “HE. DOES. NOT. GET. B. PLUSSES.”

It's true, I could have lived without that one.

I hate how you can dwell on that "one" when the rest are so great! I remember at one conference I had, I knew I was in trouble when the dad pulled out a piece of paper with a list.

What's wrong with these parents! And clearly. The kid got a B+!!!

how many conferences do you have to do? our kid is a soph and we have no conference. I don't really want a conference, but it does seem odd.

We just have conferences once a year, but they really came out en masse for these. I met with a lot of soph parents. Maybe 70 or 80??
