I'm watching the end of the Gilmore Girls. This is it. The end. No more Gilmores.
This show has been an insitution in my life. I have seen every single episode from all seven seasons. My students tell me I look like Alexis Bledel. I have a crush on Lauren Graham. I wept when Rory graduated from high school, and again when she graduated from Yale. I have visited GG fansites, for god's sake, where all the fourteen-year-old female enthusiasts post their gushing praise for all things Gilmore.
It's official. I'm in mourning. I have been forced to read the E! Online TV blogs to see if there might be anything on the horizon that might fill the special place in my heart that the Gilmore Girls have occupied. I highly doubt it.

When does project runway start again?
I feel your pain. I just sobbed through the entire finale. I thought it was perfect--no one went back in time or practiced wiccan ala Felicity, it was not a 2 hour production with intermittent retrospectives ala Dawson's Creek, and it did not involve a wedding for either Gilmore ala every other show featuring female lead characters.
It was simple, understated, and drew everything neatly to a close while leaving it all wide open. Rest in peace, dear Gilmores!
cari - i think runway is up again in sept or oct, so that will be great.
abby - i'm so glad you love gilmores too. and i agree, it might have beent the best series finale ever. i cried through the whole thing, despite being ridiculed by my husband. also, i loved how they did that last shot like the last shot of the pilot. perfect.
I, too, have a gilmore girls obsession. While I was late in discovering the Gilmores, I have seen every episode thanks to ABC family and the wonders of DVR. I just made Josh go downstairs while I watched so he wouldn't ridicule my crying through the whole thing. It really was a perfect ending. But, I'm kind of in denial that it is actually over.
There are rumors that Amy Sherman-Palladino is in talks about a new show that would star Parker Posey. It could never replace Gilmore, but at least the writing would be jazzy...
But it's Lauren Graham that I'll miss the most. Any word on what she's doing next?
I fear it will be like Josh from West Wing. When Bradley Whitford was on Studio 60 I felt like Josh was just moonlighting.
She will always be Lorelai to me.
