And My First Summer Reading Book Will Be...

Death Comes For the Archbishop by Willa Cather.

Yeah. I know.

It's just that I couldn't see any way out of the Book Club meeting at Dan's law firm retreat next weekend, seeing as I'm an English teacher and all.

I'll let you know how it is. I'm sure I'll like it at least as much as I liked My Antonia.

Which was not at all.

I still have nightmares about this poster:

I have owned a really nice set of Cather books for over a decade and haven't made it past My Antonia. Good luck.

Just finished Death Comes to the Archbishop myself. I really enjoyed it (of course there were "issues"), but I "was" on a trip to New Mexico at the time.

I actually love My Antonia too, but then I'm from good German farm stock and spent my summer days reading in a hay field on my family's farm.
