I screamed later in front of a student who was in to get me to sign a form about his attendance contract. He laughed at me, but to be fair, it probably was funny to see me shaking my fists and screaming.
Later, I accidentally started crying at the lunch table.
So, pretty much, this year blows. I mean, let's be real.
Something that doesn't blow is this tweet I read today:
@editorgurl is the actual editor of Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien, my favorite blogging topic of the month. I was really excited that she, Nancy Mercado, editor of the book, may have listened to my podcast. And then somebody else I don't know also re-tweeted that tweet because they follow Nancy, adding that she loved O'Brien's YA novel.
This is the power of the internet! Unfortunately, the power of the internet is not enough to counteract the power of the Worst Year Ever. I'm not sure how I'm going to survive the next seven weeks. I'll do it somehow, but I might not be as delightful as I was before.

I'm not sure it's the worst year ever. You've done an impressive # of great things. I think April just really is the cruelest month. thank god we have the literacy blogging challenge to see us through the hard times.

O savvy mom, I am so sorry that this year blows (or "has blown" or, perhaps, "blew chunks.") I do know the feeling and can empathize greatly. I am presently fielding email from nervous pre-final exam first-years who are hoping to get a better grade than they did on the fall test. I am not hopeful, judging from the quality of some of the questions, but there's still time for this to be "the best year ever" for both of us!!! Hang in there and picture Shef and Mac launching HB eggs :)

That worst year ever thing can really spring from buds unseen...It happens to me all the time...I blame it on the computer scheduling at my office but there must be some equivalent for school classes. Remember that tomorrow is a new day and see how it goes.

Yesterday was better than Monday and today will be better still. And tomorrow is PiPY day, so that will totally rock.
